Ymddiheuriadau, ond nid yw cyfieithiad Cymraeg y tudalen hwn ar gael eto. Dyma'r testun Saesneg: Desert Presence for Welsh Solar Company DulasFirst Minister Rhodri Morgan has presented a solar powered medical refrigerator to His Excellency Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, Chairman of the United Arab Emirates headquarters of the humanitarian aid authority, The Red Crescent, based in Abu Dhabi. The First Minister was delighted to donate the solar refrigerator - commenting that 'This product has a huge potential in terms of helping the international community provide humanitarian aid to the developing world and in dealing with natural catastrophies. 'It assists in delivering vaccines and blood transfusions safely. Dulas is but one example of small companies in Wales who, through high level engineering and smart business, are addressing niche markets emerging in the global economy' He continued 'The use of solar power for such a basic function is both appropriate, fit for purpose and environmentally sound. I am delighted that Wales is able to contribute, though technology to the increasing levels of humanitarian support required in sub-Saharan Africa. Following the presentation, the solar refrigerator was immediately repackaged for deployment. The Red Crescent is amongst the world's largest contributors of humanitarian support. With projects in Palestine, Sudan and the Yemen, amongst other African countries, providing support for refugees, medical equipment and personnel, and emergency disaster relief, it is one of the organisations to respond to the crisis in Darfur, Sudan and the ongoing situation in Iraq. Dulas has been supplying the UN and other donor agencies with medical solar equipment for over 20 years. The company, based in Machynlleth, is constantly re-engineering it's systems to meet with the difficult demands of the African climate and logistical challenges. Director Ian Draisey, who described the attributes of the fridge to officials at the presentation said 'We are delighted that the Red Crescent will be using the vaccine fridge immediately. Dulas and the Red Crescent clearly share the same core values in improving people lives. 'Having talked to the engineers and operations managers here - I am sure that the Red Crescent will see the benefits in our technology, in reaching remote areas with no electricity infrastructure', he added.
