Wood fuel can be one of the, cleanest fuels available, if you use suitable fuels in properly installed and maintained equipment. As well as being carbon neutral, burned properly seasoned wood burned efficiently emits less contaminants and potentially dangerous chemicals than most other fuels, and so is better for the environment and for our own health.

Unlike oil,gas and nuclear fuel it presents no risks if it is accidentally released in the environment. It has far lower emissions than all fossil fuels, containing almost no sulphur and very little nitrogen.

As with all heating systems, proper installation and maintenance is essential and of course it is important to make sure chimneys are kept in good order and swept at least once or twice a year.
